Our open-fire brick oven and wood-fired grill provide the setting for our continuously evolving tasting menus and integrated cool climate cuisine. We pride ourselves on enlightened hospitality so that you may relax and enjoy the journey.

backhouse is a detailed and labour intensive restaurant.

Our staff tends to our farm daily and delivers vegetables still warm from the sun. We cook fresh every day and preserve that which we can’t for the winter months. We source ethically raised meat, do our own in-house butchery, and cook over an open fire. We hand-craft and bake fresh daily our sourdough bread. We produce our own cheese and culture our own butter. We source local fruits and nuts for our house-made desserts. We craft seasonal, artisanal cocktails and boast a highly curated international wine list. We do this in the hopes of bringing you the best possible culinary journey.
